March 25th - the Annunciation of the Lord

Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living,
to you do we entrust the cause of life:
Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born (...)
Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love to the people of our time.
Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new,
(...) to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.
~Pope John Paul II

There are so many ways to express our solidarity with our brothers and sisters
throughout the world
- even our little brothers and sisters in the womb!
Our community participated in prayer movement organized by
Save Holy!2011 – the Gospel of Life http://www.uratujswietego.pl/
to bring end to abortion.
Each day we prayed the Novena before the Annunciation of the Lord (Solemnity),
which included the Chaplet of Divine Mercy,
we also offered Holy Communion and Eucharistic Adoration
for the babies not born yet.
We asked God to call some of them to become priests. The most powerful response
we can make in the Church is to pray in unity.
Prayer grounds us in the only Power that can ultimately defeat the culture of death.

Thursday - a day to pray for vocations

Thursday is a day when we do pray for the vocations to the priesthood and the consecrated life. We pray for people who think about becaming a priest or a religious sister/brother.

" If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free, beautiful and great. No! Only in this friendship are the doors of life opened wide. Only in this friendship is the great potential of human existence truly revealed. Dear young people: do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away and he gives you everything. When we give ourselves to him, we receive a hundredfold in return. Yes, open, open wide the doors to Christ - and you will find true life ".

“What is it you want?” he asked (Mt 20,21)

Mt 20, 17-28

Jesus and his Apostles are on the way to Jerusalem. I will accompany them and listen to Master's words. He is explaining them the events which are going to happen. Accompanying Jesus means also the way of rejection, sneer and torment.
Do I agree on this way in my life? Open your fears before Jesus.

Jesus' word, which introduce torment, is finally the Word of Life. It always leads to LIFE.

Jesus asks me: “What is it you want?”
I will consider it carefully. Am I ready to share my lot with Jesus, whatever happens?

I will stay among disgusted disciples. They felt led by the two brothers. I will follow my reaction in my community, in my family and at work. Can I be glad of their success?

As Lent goes on - why you’re doing this?

It was Ash Wednesday. I was scrambling to decide what exactly I’m giving up for the next 40 days.

A lot of times, we try to do one HUGE sacrifice that seems like the most impressive thing we can think of… but the point isn’t how big our sacrifices are. Lent is about growing closer to Christ.

Lent is about learning to love God better, and he gives us a few different areas to work on in the Gospels: heart, soul, strength, mind, neighborhood.

As Lent goes on, just remember to keep focused on why you’re doing this – to love Jesus better. Walk the road of these 40 days and you’ll be that much more united with Him when he walks the road to Calvary this Triduum.

God and Daniel

O Lord, the great and dreadful God,
keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him.
(Dn 9,4)

Great…,  dreadful…, keeping the covenant and mercy…

Isn’t strange this beginning of the prayer?
Why is Daniel so sure that God will forgive him?

It probably comes from Daniel’s personal experience.
God many times showed Daniel that He LOVES Him.
By starting this prayer, Daniel has no problem
with his honestly confession,
disobedience and unfaithfulness of all people.
He doesn’t hide anything, but knows
that justice not necessarily takes sides with theirs. (Dn 9,7)
 Because he has experienced
so many times that God
is keeping the covenant,
he trust in Him also this time
that God in His mercy will forgive them.

Believe that God, who you confess your sins to,
is loving and affectionate, good and merciful!.
Recall to your memory how much goodness
have you received in your life from Him.

And do you still think that God
does not want to forgive you?
(Dn 9,9).

Have a powerful day!

Presence of God

When we feel the presence of God we also want to do something for Him, by participating in a different type of service. It is so important to be, to stay in the presence of Jesus, to dive in His Love and contemplate His Word which we can find in the Bible. He is here, in the Liturgy of the Word and in the Liturgy of the Eucharist. We can hear Lord’s voice and see His Glory. His voice is hidden in lector voice, His Glory is hidden in the gifts of the bread and the wine. You can also adore Him during the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Come as often as you can to the Eucharist in order to feed yourself by hearing His Word and receiving the Body of Christ. Ask Him to open you eyes and you will experience the transformation of your heart.

Glory to You God! Come and let me experience Your presence. I desire to feel your closeness during this Lent. Give me this desire to love the Holy Eucharist and let me come as often as possible to receive the Holy Communion. Let me adore you.

To hear and to answer God's call - Taize 2010, Rotterdam

TAIZE 2010, ROTTERDAM
In the afternoon block of Taize meetings we had a great opportunity to choose one topic from a very large range (30).  There was a wide range of offers; for example: you could leave the Ahoy Hall and do sightseeing (Rotterdam Port, visit fishers) as well as meet interesting people from all the nations in the different parts of the city by taking part in meetings concerning economical, theological, social, culture and ecumenic matters. There was also a chance to stay in silence (inside so called Silence Room) in order to pray and have a word with a priest or religious sister.

We took part in the workshop which was held in the one of the Ahoy Halls. The topic was:

GOD IS AT WORK WITH US.
HOW TO HEAR AND RESPOND TO HIS CALL?

It was led by brother John (one of Taize brothers). This meeting was held on the first and the second day as well. The attendance was very high. The hall was full of people. Br. John reminded us a question which was the starting point of our discussion: How to find what you are called to?
Also 2 others questions which seemed, at first sight - quite easy, but were introduction to our discussion.
1. Do I believe that God is at work in us?
2. How does God work in my life?

Each of us could share the answers to these questions. And to my surprise, there was a very high interest in this topic. Br. John seeing it, pointed out 6 things which are worthy to consider when you are looking for what you are called to.

1. Desire God.
Zacchaeus had to risk so much to meet Jesus. He was even ready to give away half of his fortune. Ask yourself a simple question: Would I be ready to give away my belongings, my position, my talents to Jesus? What does make me not to do it? What am I attached to very much?

2. Listen.
If you want to know what are you called by Christ, you have to know Him.
You have to know, what is the way He acts. You can do it by reading the Bible and meditate the examples of people whose life He took action in. His way of acting shows also how he does take action in your life.

3. Trust.
Miracles do happen when you trust. This is necessary - to trust. Peter experienced it. After fishing all night, at Jesus' word, he experienced miracle. Full net. Trust is a posture of your heart.

4. Take risk.
When do you risk? A lot of answers.
Br. John drew our attention to what I can do if there is possibility that I will lose something.
Decision of risking includes that I can lose. Zacchaeus had to risk a lot. He could lose his reputation which meant much more to him.
The big risk for young people is this: they are not brave enough to take risk - and this is the risk of losing sense of life.

5. Search and ask questions.
Listening to people, asking questions is very important. You are not able to stay alone with your own questions, because you will not make any progress. This is important to find people who you could be understand by and peole who would be able to give answers to your questions.

6. Experience emptiness.
Young people are afraid of emptiness, silence and having nothing. When you do make a space inside you, you will find empty place. If you accept it, you can invite Jesus there. Then you are ready to agree to God's will. He will live in you, slowly making wide your heart.

At the end of meeting Br. John invited us to go to the Silence Room and open our hearts to Jesus and stay a bit in His presence. He also suggested to ask yourself:
What have I risked in my life to choose Jesus?
What does disturb me to make a right decision? To name my own worries, barriers, etc.

Unprepared for Christmas

Welcome everybody in the season of Advent. This is a special period of preperation for Christmas.

The first week went by. We're in the middle of the second week of Advent. And this is quite good time to ask yourself simple questions like that:
Have I already come into this Advent?
What's my own way to find Christ this time?

I don't know your answer.
But I'd like you to know that one day this time will be over...
So, don't let this Advent to catch you... UNPREPARED for Christmas. Try as much as possible to recognise Christ. He is coming. Find Him and - I'm sure - your Christmas will be much more beautiful and joyful in your life.

Today's conversation with one person has made considerable influence on my life... More to the point, I have started thinking about going through a lengthy-complex process... That's what I'm going to start before Christmas.
